From February 26th to June 20th, 2010, the Global Lives Project World Premiere took place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, free of admission. This exhibit was hosted by the Global Lives Project, FORM design + build, Sand Studios and Ade, Barry Threw, and Rafael Alcala. The installation featured ten documentaries that capture 24 hours in the lives of ten people from around the world who represent global diversity. This exhibit used 7 TV screens and 13 projections to feature the collection of participants, the First Ten, that aims to represent the world’s demographic diversity. Over one thousand visitors attended the opening night reception to celebrate the filmmakers, photographers, artists, designers, and everyday people from around the world that contributed to Global Lives.
