Stanford Curriculum Premiere & California College of the Arts Pop-Up Video Installation, 2012

Sponsors: Center for Art and Public Life, California College of the Arts, Adobe Foundation

On April 22nd, 2012, David Evan Harris, Jody Gillerman, and Lauren Valdez organized the Stanford Curriculum Premiere & CCA Pop-up Video Installation at Parisoma Innovation Loft. The event featured a preview of Unheard Stories: Building Empathy through the Global Lives Project, a Global Lives Curriculum developed by graduate students at Stanford University’s School of Education. The curriculum is a three-week intensive unit designed for seventh graders to cultivate empathy and global perspectives in the classroom, intended to complement the Global Lives exhibit/website. In addition, Global Lives collaborated with students from the California College of the Arts to create a “pop-up” version of the Global Lives Project’s 10-projector immersive video installation of daily life around the world. This exhibition was configured for spaces of varied shapes from 900 to 2,500 feet squared.
