Bio

Nayoung Jung is a student from Sookmyung Women’s University in South Korea. She is majoring in English language and literature and is especially interested in the field of translation and interpretation. She has a very outgoing and sociable personality, and likes to become friends with anyone from all around the world. She has been voluntarily teaching Korean language to foreigners who are currently living in Korea and has managed and participated in various intercultural events such as international social parties, Korean culture festivals, and language exchange meetings. In early 2012, she went to Florida and studied intercultural communication at Florida State University as an exchange student. While studying at FSU, she did a six-month-internship at Walt Disney World as a part of the exchange program. When she came back to Korea, she became more confident and active in her field than before. Since then, she has done several translations of children’s books and TV shows, and has worked as an interpreter at large and small conferences. Based on her experiences, Nayoung decided to join the Global Lives Korea project and is utilizing her translation and interpretation skills.
