Jessie Sklair, Executive Producer (Brazil Shoot)
Jessie Sklair is British and lives in São Paulo, Brazil. She works with documentary video and has made or worked on films about a youth music group and education project in the zona sul of São Paulo, the Brazilian Landless Movement (MST), the election of Lula as Brazil’s president in 2002 and an art and photography project with children and young people in a shanty town in Recife, Northern Brazil. She has also made promotional videos for NGOs in the UK and two music videos. Jessie is currently studying for a master’s degree in urban anthropology at the University of São Paulo. She is married to a Brazilian architect.
José Santos, Project Advisor (Director, Museum of the Person)
Jose Santos is the CEO of the Museum of the Person. He makes documentaries, and has a degree in Social Communication from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Brazil). He was born on October 30, 1959 in Santana do Deserto, a city of two thousand inhabitants in the Brazilian State of Minas Gerais. In his (rare) free time, Jose writes poetry for children. He is the author of two books: The ABCs want to play with you, and Stars of the Sky and Sea (In the original Portuguese, O ABC quer brincar com você, by the editor Lazuli/Nacional, and Estrelas do Céu e do Mar by the editor Paulus).
Maria Laura Vilela César, Producer
Maria Laura was born in Ituverava, São Paulo, and came to Brazil’s capital ten years ago to study Advertising. She has worked with photography, fashion, theater, and for the last couple of years has dedicated herself to being a producer, working primarily with advertising. Right now she works at Prodigo Films and coordinates the productions.
Helio Ishii, Diretor and Camera Operator
Helio majored in Social Sciences at the University of São Paulo and began his career as a video maker about ten years ago with underground theater and musical groups from São Paulo, as well as producing documentaries of artists that participated in São Paulo’s Bienal art exhibits. In 2000 he started researching paths in the use of video and produced the satirical “Narco Talk Show” on the internet, which is a simulation of interviews that turn characters like a rapist into celebrities. In 2001 he created a project called “Fora de Sync” [Out of Sync], in which after a movie is completed, the audio is removed and it is dubbed by different people. The first movie of this project was selected for the International Festival in Bahia that same year. From 2004 on he has dedicated himself to producing documentaries on migration. The first one, “Cartas,” is 80 minutes long was released in 2004. It received positive comments from Aracy Amaral, an important Brazilian arts critic. The second one, “Permanência,” is 70 minutes long and will be released in November of this year. “Meninas do Samba” [Girls of Samba] is halfway done and is a documentary on samba dancers. “Psicopata” [Psychopath] by Albano Ribeiro and “A lista” [The List] by Hélio himself are being scripted.
Ana Nassar, Producer
Ana Leonardo Nassar was born in São Paulo, Brazil but has never liked to stay much time at home; her favorite hobby has always been travel around, everywhere she could. When she was 17, she spent 6 months in Pittsburgh, USA to experience life at an American high school. In 2004, she lived in Poitiers, France for 7 months to study Political Sciences in the Institut de Sciences Politiques de Paris. She is an undergraduate student at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of São Paulo, majoring in International Relations. She works at the Museu of the Person in São Paulo and is responsible for the coordination of the international network of life stories. The Museum of the Person is today a network formed by nucleuses in USA, Canada and Portugal.
Berenice Ring, Communication Strategist
Berenice Ring has a degree in Business Management from the Getulio Vargas Foundation, with a specialty in Marketing. She has 25 years experience in Marketing, during which time she has obtained experience in many different types of communication strategies. She was responsible for the production of commercials that received awards at the Inter-american Advertising Festival, as well as work that received a Benny Award from the Printing Industries of America, the most important award in the graphic industry. Berenice is now completing an MBA in branding to further develop her work during recent years in strategic planning.

Pedro Gomes, 22 years old, is a student (in his last year) in Multimedia Communication at the Catholic Univeristy (PUC). He works in many different professional areas, always maintaining art as his principal focus. Filmaker and director of short films, he has produced a few adiovisual pieces, such as "Bitter", "A Being Like This," and "Love Letters." (In Original Portuguese "Amargo," "Um Ser Assim," and "Cartas de Amor.") A prose and poetry writer, you can se a preview of his book (in Portuguese) at http://www.abridordeamanhecer.blogspot.com . As for his academic interests, he is a researcher on Brazilian youth. (http://www.pucsp.br/projetojovensurbanos ). Finally, he works as a producer for the rap group Pentagono, (Rael is one of the MC's). In addition to being a bridge between the global lives team and Rael, Pedro is also one of the cameramen, during a period of 8 hours (from 16h to 24 h), working as a volunteer.

Alder Augusto da Silva was born in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. “I am a black man, and I have work experience in the non-profit sector when I participated in a Non-Governmental Organization named the Woman's Center in Cabo, which is a feminist organization that serves the Santo Agostinho Metropolitan Area in the city of Recife, Pernambuco. Through this same organization I obtained four years of experience in art-education as a means of social intervention. I also participated in many social welfare events, conferences and seminars. In addition to doing theater, dance, and percussion, I am studying and taking a special course in audiovisual direction at the HSBC Belas Artes organization.”
